| Case Studies Kraiburg matting has many advantages
over conventional bedding. It can often solve specific problems for
a particular horse or pony. Here are some 'case studies' of animals
that have benefited from the use of rubber matting.
If you have a story to tell about your own horse or pony, we would
be delighted to feature it on this page. Send us some details, preferably
with a picture, and you could win a Kraiburg T-shirt.

money are important to us. We would not have had any other products
here but the best. Fit the best – fit Kraiburg

| We believe that rubber matting is an essential part of low-dust
management for stabled horses and leads to improved respiratory
health……but what we have come to learn is that not all
rubber matting systems are equal. In fact, poorly manufactured and
installed rubber matting can cause problems in itself. This is the
reason that the Animal Health Trust has chosen to work with Kraiburg
to evaluate the true benefits of a properly designed rubber matting
system for horses.

Graf Granno, 16.2hh Hanoverian stallion: "We believe it
is important to protect our valuable horses from the hard floor.
Our stallion Graf Granno stands on Kraiburg mats, and they are the
best that we have tried. They offer a comfortable supportive surface
and reduce the time it takes to muck out. We have also put them
in our grooming bay, and the slip resistance is very good"

Horsewalker Installation
The horsewalker plays a vital role in our training operation
and it creates major problems if is is out of action. Therefore
it was crucial that we found a flooring system that really worked.
I'm delighted to say that we have found such a product in Kraiburg
rubber briquettes.
Keeping horses injury free is paramount to a racing yard. The
rubber briquettes provide a superior anti-slip surface for the
horses to walk on and aid in preventing any further stress to
the leg joints.
Maintenance of the bricks is kept low by adding a small sprinkling
of silica sand over the top allowing for the briquettes to be
easily swept clean after use.

| In 2001 we installed Kraiburg rubber mats in 38 of our stables
and we are delighted with the result
Running a busy equestrian centre is very rewarding but can be
a costly business. So with that in mind we looked to rubber matting
as an investment for the future for our horses and us. Our main
aims were to help reduce mucking out time, improve hygiene and
save on spiralling bedding costs.
The Kraiburg mats are already proving to be very cost effective.
We have greatly reduced mucking out time, muck storage and disposal
costs. For a busy competition centre it is crucial that our boxes
can be cleaned out and disinfected adequately between horses.
Kraiburg mats are perfect for the job and the horses are seeing
the benefits also. The rubber mat combined with a small amount
of bedding really is a safer, softer and warmer environment.
With a 10 year manufacturers guarantee I believe College EC has
made a very sound investment.

When I rang and asked you to talk me into rubber matting for
stabling, little did I know how thrilled I would be with my decision
to buy the best, as you suggested.
It is now nearly 5 weeks since you came and laid them in the
stable of the 'messiest' gelding I have ever owned. Mucking out
is minimal, amount of fresh shavings each day down dramatically,
there is absolutely no smell, so the drainage holes must be working
and I cannot thank you enough.

Many thanks for your prompt response, believe me there are a
lot of matting suppliers out there (as you probably already know)
but their service leaves a lot to be desired. It's nice to finally
deal with a company on the ball.

| Willowdale Cariad (Cassie) is a 19 year old Welsh mare, the perfect
first pony. However, she suffers from COPD, and last season had
a severe attack of laminitis. The rubber matting in her stable provided
an excellent surface for her recovery period. It cushioned her feet
and legs, the extra warmth was good for her circulation, and it
was dust free. She wasn't tempted to eat it either! She is now back
on top form at pony club and local shows.

'Kraiburg Stable Mats have transformed our lives. With nine shavings
beds it was taking a large part of the day for one person to muck
out - now it takes an hour and a half. From nine large stables we
only get one and a half wheelbarrows of waste a day. We wash down
the boxes each day and power hose them with Jeyes fluid once a week,
and feel that this is much more hygienic for the horses than other
forms of bedding. As a result it is also a great improvement for
any horses with a tendency towards COPD or other bronchitic problems.
Our shavings bill has been dramatically reduced as we now only
scatter a thin layer on the surface of each mat.
Another unexpected benefit was with a horse that has always been
a poor traveller. I thought he might have suffered claustrophobia.
But since I put the mats on the lorry floor he has been much more
settled when travelling as he is unable to slip on the new matting.'

| With all the ramp systems I've tried over the years there have
always being inherent problems- diffiicult to clean, noisy, slippery,
they soak up water, they are labour intensive to manufacture and
fit. And in my experience most ramps have a limited life.
With the Kraiburg ramp all these issues are resolved. This ramp
system, with its heavily textured surface and moulded solid rubber
slats, is unique. I tell my clients as far as ramp systems go
there's only one.

My main objective when I purchased stable mats was to reduce
my mucking out time so I could concentrate on training horses. I
am happy to say I have achieved this - I now spend 1.5 hrs to clean
9 stables instead of 3hrs.
Because my stables are quite old and odd shaped I was concerned
the mats would be difficult to fit but I was delighted with the
local Kraiburg distributor who did the installation. The mats
are a very tight fit, and go right to the walls of the stable.
I was delighted with the professional service and support. Knowing
I have a 10-year guarantee from the actual manufacturer gives
me great confidence in the product. I am delighted with my stables
and so too are my horses.
